In the scope of an OER program (Opérations d’Expérimentation Réactive as for Urgent Requirement), it has recently performed a comparative evaluation between different manufacturers of GDS (acoustic Gunshot Detection System) for the soldier.
The PEARL system – from Metravib, a brand of ACOEM – has been ranked first in the comparative evaluation and has obtained the best performances in terms of detection & localization ratio, accuracy for designating the shot’s origin. The PEARL was also the only system not to report False Alarm and not react to the return fire shots.
Metravib has also demonstrated during this evaluation the PEARL solutions for integrating with other equipment as thermal sights, multiple function goggles or head display interface system in order to increase the operational capabilities of the dismounted soldier.
